Glitter Bug Experiment

Today, the Primary 1 and Primary 1/2 classes, talked about germs and the importance about when and how we should wash our hands to stay healthy.

First we all read a story together about the importance of washing our hands after we go to the toilet, touched an animal, play outside, have a cold or before we eat.

We used a special cream and lamp to see how many germs we had on our hands, we could not believe it!  The places where we had the most germs lit up in bright white.  After that, we went to wash our hands properly.

To see how well we did it, we retested our hands under the lamp to see if it was any better.  Luckily we all had much cleaner hands!  Now we all know how to properly wash our hands to stay clean and healthy.
