We have been in the new Chinese garden twice this week. First we went out to create a web of life using species which could be found in Scots forests and woodlands. We each had a picture of a different plant or animal and a piece of wool. We had to look for the species which provided our example with energy then link our pieces of string together. This helped us to understand how important all the different species of plants and animals are for survival. We quickly noticed that the sun gives out the most energy! In class we learned about animals which could be found in the Congo River Basin rainforest in Africa and we created a food chain in our home teams.
The second time we went to the courtyard, we had great fun singing ‘heads, shoulders, knees and toes’ in Mandarin.
